| It's about time we start to make people take responsibility for their actions.
To start, we should make it illegal for people on welfare to drink. They are not supporting themselves, instead my taxes are going into their pockets, and until they get a job, they should be spending my money on food and clothing, not booze and cigarettes.
And since they are just sitting around drinking away my taxes anyway, they probably should not be allowed to vote. They have already shown themselves to be incapable of making certain correct decision, so we shouldn't allow them to make decisions that will affect other, more contributing members of society.
We should probably make it illegal for people collecting unemployment to drink, either. Even though they are unemployed only temporarily, they are still not contributing until they get a job again, so they really need to concentrate on finding work.
I suppose the retired shouldn't drink or vote either. Most likely they are taking more out of Social Security than they put in anyway, so they too are being supported by my taxes instead of contributing on their own. And since they may have difficulty making informed decisions due to age-related memory problems, etc., they definitely shouldn't be voting.
Maybe we should make people pass some sort of test to show themselves capable of earning rights that require responsibility, such as drinking, voting, having kids. There are too many people out there who are abusing these privileges, which just makes things harder for the rest of us. If we could force everyone to have to pass a test, like a citizenship test or something, then a lot of these problems would be solved. |
