Blah, lie detector tests are hooey. by caffine-iv 2002-08-26 06:41:30
I've successfully lied through them before.

In cub scouts we toured the legal system.. (over a stretch of days of couse). At one point, we were all looking at how they do lie detectors. Kids are fascinated with those things :) Well obviously someone had to demonstrate. And obviously if one of us got to be tested, the rest of us had to be as well. After it was found that someone did indeed steal a dollar from their moms purse, and someone else indeed did NOT do their homework, it was found that I did and did not water the plants. Logic of course sais it's impossible to have done both or niether. Either you did or did not water hte plants. Lie detector said I did niether tho =)

Why?

It's a measure of how stressed you get at certain points. Some people get caught in lies they don't make. My math professor at college was proven o be lieing about his name by the polygraph test :D He was just extremely nervous since he had never been ploygraphed before, and was new to America, and was chinese and people didn't seem to liek chinese here anyways.
