is lowering the arbitrary age limit to something that seems less intrusive.
My point is that no age limit should be mandated in a free society. It is true that people become more conservative and moderate as they age, but I can't accept the proposition that we must wait until somebody reaches a suitable level of moderation before being granted full rights. Those youthful passions need to be bled and explored. The radical needs to be allowed to participate in politics, the adventurous youngster should be allowed to explore sexuality if they choose, and the ruddy teen needs to be able to experience the drunken stupor and resulting nausea. |
