Dictionary.com agrees with you. If people do their duties as resposible citizens (in this case, telling a guy he's had enough), then we wouldn't need all this regulation and legislation. I've never heard of that particular law, though if it is as you describe, then I would hope the state provides access to the instrument that allows them to see your intent. If you really don't know where the gun is, you may want to fill out something with police saying so. Might save you some trouble if it ever materializes at a crime scene.
