If pregnancy is the only danger in sex, then pre-pubescent children would still be ok. And I would also point out that many teen/pre-teen pregnancies go off without a hitch, while many adult pregnancies suffer from complications. So once again, age isn't the major factor.
An adult can't "handle" alcohol either. If they drink too much, it is fatal. The same is true for children, the ammount required to reach fatal levels is just less. It is every individual's responsibility to his or her limit.
Marrying relations wasn't ment to be covered in the idea of age limits. That is a different debate with many more issues to consider.
Laws do create order, but when one group becomes second-class citizens because of an arbitrary legislative decision, the society cannot claim to be free and equal. |
