you were refering to, hence my second sentence. Sometimes the joke has to come first though. ;)
In my opinion, people can eat whatever the heck they want under whatever label. They just may confuse some people. :) If I had to make a chart on how I'd classify vegetarians in my perfect world, it would be be something like:
vegan = no animal products at all. No meat, milk, eggs, honey, etc.
ovolacto vegetarian = no meat or food that requires the death of an animal, but will eat milk, eggs, honey. (For some definitions the eggs must be certified unfertilized.)
no read meat (not vegetarian) = no beef, lamb, etc. but can eat fish, or fowl. I've heard people who say no pork either (even though it's the "other white meat"), but I guess that's debatable.
Of course YMMV. Perhaps I need to invent something that goes between ovolacto and no red meat for fish only meat eaters.
Now I'm going to show my ignorance and say: why would mushrooms be disqualified? |
