Dad's reasons are entirely relevant. Consider: "This case was filed because California atheist blah blah blah yammer blah." These facts, reported in a story, are completely relevant to the story.
Mom's reasons for suing are also relevant. "A suit was filed to remove blah daughter's name blah yadda yadda."
Both of these sorts of reportings are relevant to the issue at hand; namely, the legal fight over the pledge. Even reactions of policy makers (Congressidiots, state officials, and the like) are relevant, in that they provide both background for the setting of the article, and some insight into what will come next in the case.
Nowhere in this case does the marital status of the parents have any bearing on anything. |
