Among Christians...to become a preacher you have to be called by god. Of course some people try to be preachers who arn't called, but if your a christian it tends to be easy to point people out. Of course if you want to be a good preacher, you should do whatever it takes for you to learn the Bible. If you wish to be the pastor of a church, then its the whole churches decision if you become one. Along with any other decision in the church..it has this whole voting system type thing goin ya see.
In essence, to hold any kind of position you must be called by God for positions that don't require you to be in a church (such as Missionarys), and if the position is in a church. Be called by God and have the whole church agree for you to have that position.
