| In this case (seing a class) the teacher also interprets, and, depending on the teacher, he can insist that you see the interpretation HIS way or give you a bad grade. I'm sure many of you may have run into this when discussing the "meaning" of Shakespeare, or whatever, in your classic literature classes. I still believe that anyone with any amount of real faith in their own religion should be able to look at another religion without feeling challenged, and without rancor, but I don't think that in a classroom setting you are often allowed the luxury of your own interpretation. |
