1. M$ is an abbreviation for a huge, wealthy, (probably greedy) multinational company known as Microsoft. The usage is pejorative and generally denotes a grasping, heavy-handed, self-interested attitude on the part of said corporation. Use of such abbreviation should be reduced as unnecessarily inflammatory.

2. Sometimes posters leave the topic de-jour and start whining about (sometimes) related topics for no reason other than they see in the thread a favorite rant.
