games and "didn't know it was illegal"?
It's morons like that who allow stupid precedents to be set.
Tell me something, though: does the mod chip have any uses OTHER than playing pirated games? I think it does, and had this boob not mixed the two he might not have given them the chance to stick their foot in the door.
It's a small "might", though, I admit. Calling the chips "unauthorized computer equipment" kind of indicates the Court's predisposition to disallow that technology.
I would like to see it challenged under freedom of information, privacy, or some other basic legal right. But that doofus should _still_ go to jail for the pirating. |
