I have yet to see the point in daylight saving, except as a device to make people get up earlier, even if they don't want to, which I call government interference in the lives of citizens. Worse, daylight saving was made permanent in most of western Europe about 50 years ago, now another hour has been added in the summer, and there is talk of making that permanent.
