| More on fitting in... |

Fitting in is neccessary.
Yes, if you TRY to fit in, you won't and you will fail :P
But if a person never fits in anywhere, they never develop a sence of belonging, and selfesteem continues to suffer.
I know there are a lot of people who only had the one or two friends in school and what not.
There are also some people who don't have any friends in school at all. They're the person who gets up in the morning, goes to school, and THEN discovers their throaght is too sore to talk :P
When a person fits in, they make friends, and they get to know people. These relationships may never go anywhere then. They may not go anywhere ever.. But eventually, all of them will be out of school. They will all be searching for work. Some of them will leave town, others will stay.
When teh ones who stay decide to leave, they'll put in applications around the nation and hope one of them gets answered. A HR officer will pick up a stack of resumes one day, and sit down to read through... They'll read over one, start to aim at hte trashcan, notice ht name on top, smile and set it aside instead.
The HR officer recognizes the name and address on the resume. It's the girl who sat next to her during lunch and allowed her to vent off her frustrations so the day wouldn't seem so long.
Said HR officer passes hte resume in with the rest secretly hoping she gets the job.. She gets interviewed, and wether she gets hte job or not doesn't matter for my scenario... But she never would have had the chance had she not fit in with that particular group.
Wether anyone likes it or not, this happens all the time in corporate America. The phrase "It's not WHAT you know, it's WHO you know" didn't come about for no reason at all.
