I merely look for a place to fit in. I don't change myself to fit into a place.. All that happens there is an analogy.
Imagine a really small hole, and really big sponge. Squeez the heck out of hte sponge, stick it in teh hole, and let it go. Now imagine hte poor sponge trying to beable to breath. All it would do is sit there in a contorted uncomfortable position, blinking like the eyes in .org on all the BVRP flash animations, until it died of suffocation =P Sponge good, sponge doesn't need to die!
Fitting in is nice, and it is helpful. It gives you a group of people you can associate with. When the new movie comes out, you can call a fe people and go watch it, and have someone to talk to abouthte movie when you get done watching it.
Ever read a really good book, and get all kinds of ideas, and sit there with your best friends excitedly spouting all these ideas out? Imagine not having that friend to give all the ideas too. You start to feel alone.
Loneliness is a huge factor in self esteem. The more alone a person is, the more broken they are. The worse their selfesteem is.
Imagine this now.. You get a guy thats been rejected by everyone, forced to be around them, hates life now because of poor selfesteem, and doesn't care anymore. Now multiply this by say, 5. Now lets say these 5 people all, without knowing each other, give up entirely and hit the street to find something worth finding. Not caring, they begin looting places... Then they eventually meet each other. They have something in common. They all like each other. They all belong togther. They finally have a group. They develop a sence of loyalty to each other, and care for each other. They love each other. In fact, their such good friends they decide to dress the same way and eventually they talk the same way, and loot the same places together. This is what I call a gang.
On the inverse, what is a gang? A gang is a group of people who have a common goal. They have loyalty to each other, respect eahc other, and hve some sort of structure "I'm bigger and older, so _I_ get to drive the stolen car!". They make sacrafices for each other.
People, the United States Army is a group of people with a common goal, with loyalty to each other and with structure. Her Majesties Armed Services has a common goal, with loyalty to each other and a structure.
Fitting in helps.
