the administrator ran the terminal console app (not something mere mortals can do ;) well the workaround at the moment is quite kludgy but it works. we have the software installed on a workstation (not technically connected to the network) that we were testing on. i have to crawl under a counter (behind some doors) to switch the cat-5 cable from one workstation to the other so that i can ftp the files i need down from the unix box (another reason to get this all running on the unix box :) then run the program and ftp the files back up to the unix host. after i'm all done, i need to make sure the cable gets swapped back to the other workstation (or one of the day-shift operator's will be peeved - then again he might be peeved anyway because since we drop his network connection - he has to log back into the computer ;)
