...my parents were getting lined up to pay everything off (including the house about 8 years early) so that they could start to wind down and enjoy life. Mom already retired and they have been letting the 401k plans roll around in some stock and they have lost a rather LARGE amount and the dream to pay things off went south last year. With no recovery for a bit, they have to re-arrange the next few years and refigure what they are going to do - I think all those responsible should work for minimum wage x 2 - that way half goes to ppl like my parents and they can pay taxes and live off of the other half. See how they like it.
