from the server, we are trying to run it from a drive mapped to the server. i *just* now found out that the admin who installed it was also having problems executing from the drive map, he opened up the terminal session and ran the program *locally* to the server. so there was no real test of the program when he installed it. the other guys here went and were able to run from the server console. *sigh* oh well -- good excuse to get the unix version running properly :)
