you obviously got the coffee off of your skin in less than the time needed to receive a third degree burn, or didn't get enough on you to do it. You will recieve third degree burns if you have enough of it in contact with your skin for long enough. McDonald's admitted they knew this, that they'd had 700 complaints and settled out of court before for severe burns, but they still didn't lower the temperature. You may call it bunk, but she was in the hospital for over a week and received skin grafts for what the emergency room doctor called third degree burns.
