I was awakened this morning at 4 by a shrill chirp, repeating about once every minute. This is the second smoke detector battery to go dead in my house since I moved in, and the last one was also in the middle of the night. Those blasted chirps are impossible to ignore. Granted, that's probably the idea, but why does it always happen in the middle of the night?! What made things worse, about an hour later as I was finally starting to fall back to sleep, my 3-month-old wakes up. AARRRGGGHHH!!!
