And what about say Liverpudlian, Brummy and Mancunian?
I've done a bit of voiceover work, for which I needed a variety of accents. At a sci-fi convention, for a laugh, I did my Travelling Accent trick, sending my pronounciation somewhere different with every sentence. I did just about every region of the UK I could think of, including Edinburgh, Glasgow, theWelsh Valleys, Belfast and Dublin. After about an hour one of the americans I had been talking to commented how much they loved my London accent. How they'd know I have no idea because I never used it...
They also called Gareth English, which didn't go down well. |
