Now fess up, did any of you notice? by SaleGamine2002-07-23 05:19:24
  A thought or two... by fore_deck 2002-07-23 06:22:14
1/ My little sister went, at the age of 18, with her extremely posh home-counties Public* School accent to Camp America.

Her room-mate was from Iowa (I think) and asked her if she came from Australia. On being told 'No, England' she asked where that was. My sis (we both have wicked senses of Sarcasm) said 'It's a small island just off the coast of Europe.' and got back, 'Could you point out Europe on a map?'!!!!!!!!!!

2/ What's the difference between an American and an Englishman? The Englishman thinks 100 Miles is a long way, the American thinks 100 years is a long time.

3/ A contractor friend of mine has called the company under which he trades August 24th Limited. Why? Because Aug 24 1812 is the date that the combined British/Canadian expeditionary force burnt Washington DC, and the orginal White House, to the ground!

* Note to Americans: In the UK a Public School is a Private School, but a VERY exclusive one. Private schools here are also called Private Schools, but they're less exclusive, and what you call a Public School is called a State School...
