But surely beating an army that sleeps all afternoon can't be that hard?
History wasn't one of the subjects I took past the age of 14, so I'd only got up to about Elizabeth 1st. I'm reminded of a scene in something I saw on telly when I was at school, about an American girl who gets sent to an English boarding school. Asked in a history lesson about 'the civil war' she sticks her hand up and starts going on about the wrong one, at which point the teacher says something like "Silly girl. American History wouldn't fill a term."
