is that while the americans on the internet, and those closer to the coasts are used to the concept of Other Countries, there's still a whole load of the more isolated inland places where the idea of other states is a little vague... I'm merely repeating what I've been told by Americans here, BTW. Sadly, while people will know the names of places they've seen on the news, how many people - and I'm including the whole world here, not just america - actually know where those places are. Would you know if your country declared war on a place which didn't actually exist?
