I know the guys are scratching their heads on this problem! What the beginning of hte story is, is that numbers that go beyond the reach of an integer (32 bits signed) get switched to floating point values.

Unfortunately, there was a bug in PHP so that this does not always work correctly when there are negative numbers involved. For example: when you do -50000 * $million, the result will be -429496728. However, when both operands are positive there is no problem.

Wonder how long it'll be before a bug patch is released =) Haha, I wonder how much sleep the programmer lost pondering this one!
