Never worked with MySQL nor Perl, but I'd advise to put \ before you " in <div class="err">... i.e. you would have something like that : print '<div class=\"err\">Error: ' . "$errmsg" . '</div>' . "\n"; Otherwise, with embended SQL (C + SQL), there was something like SQLCODE that should remain 0. There's perhaps an equivalent... dunno...
