Windows question... by krupa 2002-07-22 22:57:06
When I installed win2k, I had to reinstall some sound stuff (and a few other drivers, but I only want to talk about the sound part.) The sound drivers installed this highly annoying cd player software, that I promptly deleted.

However, now whenever I put in a music CD, I get this message:

Access to the specified device, path or file is denied.

Window's default CD player then kicks on, and I click OK in the error message box, and everything's hunky-dory.

Years ago, when I had win95 on my computer, I knew how to get that stupid message off, and have the computer look at the right path to play the CD. I have since completely forgotten.

Anyone have any ideas? (and please don't say "install linux", I already have it on a different machine.)

Thanks
