- Apple wants you in a vendor lock.
- Great CPU; proprietary everything else. This does no justice to the PPC.
- OSX might be NetBSD-based, but its interface is about as bad as Windoze XP. A bloated candy-coated shell doesn't get me excited; it irritates me.
- Most software is still OS9-based. OSX software is slowly coming out, which is good because OS9 truely sucks. OSX is a step in the right direction in terms of a modern OS, but it still needs to develop.
- Good Macs tend to be on the pricey side. Screw iWhack; get a G4.
- Apple won't let you roll your own. That bites, as I love to build my own systems.
Besides, I have a bunch of x86 software, both native to Linux and Windoze binaries I run through WineX. I would like to keep them. |
