                      I thought by Nea 2002-07-22 17:42:42
that Hades was the god who ruled the underworld in Greek mythology not the place itself. Although I've heard it used for both the god and the place. IIRC (and I could also be wrong) the Greek underworld was divided into 3 sections Elysian Fields for the heros and nifty people, Asphodel(sp?) Meadows kinda like purgatory or a place of limbo, and Tartarus which is where all the naughty people went.
