  "not suported" != "doesn't work" by gblues 2002-07-22 15:46:03
My folks have MSN Broadband (not by choice--force-migrated from Qwest DSL), which only officially supports MS Windows. Guess what the router/firewall is running? Debian Linux 2.2. ;) The only tricky part was that I needed to use a Windows box to install the MSN software and configure the DSL router (Cisco 675), but that only needed to be done once.

Just because it isn't supported doesn't mean it won't work. The only sure-fire incompatibilities are Windows-only cards (read: just about any internal cable/DSL/etc adapter). If the satellite adapter is external and connects via CAT-5 to an Ethernet adapter, you can use any TCP/IP-capable OS behind it. You'll be on your own for configuration, though. ;)
