But then I do my best to try to avoid generalizing and categorizing people and beliefs. I wouldn't dream of making up a word to define another person's beliefs, I much prefer them to define their own beliefs. If Wiccans want to claim the title of Pagan as theirs, that's fine by me, I just prefer that they claim it and not have me shove it on them. Also since the term has other accepted meanings you might want to "define" it the first time it's used. For example...

Pagans (Wiccan) believe ...

and then from that point on we'll know that when you say Pagan, you mean Wiccan. Just a suggestion for claity purposes.

Having said all that, I also recognize that within any defined 'ism will be many variations, and the best you can do when studying a religion or philosophy is get the broad outlines of the belief system.
