Actually, the other kids didn't notice so much, but the teachers fought like hell to keep me in the stupid classes. My mother was always trying to tell them it was just a phase, but would they listen?
Anyway, it wasn't till I started 2nd grade that they found out I wasn't a left-handed writer, which is why my handwriting lacked ever so much finesse. What can I say? I learned by watching my idiot brother, who was 6 years older than me - and left handed. One simple little test and they said, "Doh!"
From that point on, I took off. After only the first week, I had mastered Roman Numerals up to II. Admittedly, most of the other kids didn't see the need to learn them, as we didn't live in Rome... |
