| Being something of a Bible student, I could not resist replying to this thread.
With the exception of the "Rich Man and Lazarus", which is obviously another of Jesus illustrations, my challenge is for anyone to find Biblical evidence that what we have come to refer to as hell is anything but the state of nonexistence that comes after death.
Note that Biblical promises of resurrection do not count, and in fact support the above statement, as "resurrection" literally means "standing up again", and was understood in ancient times as a return to life from lifelessness.
