but a buttery texture... I guess the taste is similar to an english muffin... But its like comparing white bread to french. They are alike but have a slight taste diffrence... I find english muffins like french bread are more salty and "crusty." Then that crumpets are more light like white bread and a texture cross between a pancake and bread. If you were to try both you'd find they do have texture diffrences and slight taste diffrences. I'd use a muffin for something like an egg sandwich/egg mc muffin... but I'd not use a crumpet for it. Think of it in the sense of english muffin is more dinner bread and crumpets are more dessert. Btw here's a recipe for crumpets. Oh and here is one for English Muffins.(btw english muffins ingredients are diffrent some have cornmeal/semonina and others don't have that in it)
