Had I not injured my left hand... I'd finished grade 11 of my Toronto Conservatory of Music - Music theory(there are 13 grades to it). I'd of also went in and taken it in colledge with plans to teach and also work in VSO. I was being encouraged at the time to do that by two members of the VSO that thought I had potential... but my hand got injured and I knew I couldn't maintain the same quality so gave up.(my hand was also paralized for about a year.. it still suffers issues so it's not as fast as it once was...)
Graphic arts with automotive design. I was actually accepted to Pasadena Arts Center. I never did go because I just couldn't afford it. It would of been $2700/trimester american(and I'd need all 3). Then I'd of needed about $1500 us/trimester in supplies I think they said and there was no on campus housing. I was fairly intrested in doing prototype automobiles... and they had a high placement for their grads in that feild with some rather nice companies.
I've thought about going to school and taking psychology, archeology, or computers again. But alot depends on the changes to the governments policies on disabled benifits people and the educational benifit for them. Also they only really fund a 2 yr program except in rare cases where they make special exceptions due to peoples psycho ed results and things.
What I did take: Comp Sci, Business, Catering/Nutrition, and secretarial.
Basically I love computers(though not really a hardware person), I'd like to help people(who have kids like my son or like how I was when young), and I have a thing for egyptology. Kinda hard to combine all that into one career though. But if I do the educational thing which I'd like to... they will do psycho eds, personality tests, etc and will say what they figure are careers I'm best suited for and should enjoy. |
