if your view is set, that's fine. but believe it or not there are alot of smart mac users out there, and they're not the ones that you see on the apple.com/switch commercials.
as I see it, mac users are pretty well split between knowing nothing but how to use their system for e-mail, internet, music... things like that. or they know how to get the most out of their system, how to troubleshoot any problem, and sometimes, can even manipulate system software, and code. the latter group of people are the ones that stay with their computer brand, like myself. the 'less-informed' user base is the ones that switch to windows once they enter into the business world. the people that don't switch are entrepeneurs that choose to keep their computers, and don't have an IT department. or they're the ones that have a death grip on their mac, because they know everything about it, and know if it ever does actually crash, they'll be able to fix it without a problem... these are the people that tend to be better educated. from those two groups, you have the richer, and the smarter.
the best example of a user I can think of is one of my co-workers from an internship at Schlumberger (slb.com) with the R&D department in austin. the guy was very carefully holding on to his mac in a business environment that no longer supported mac, and no longer bought the business related software like MS Office, because they had phased apple out of the company. he was the manager of his section, and garunteed could answer any question you asked him about his mac.
the thing I am curious about though, is what percentage of mac users own, and run a windows computer, or a linux/unix computer? |
