Canadians at least in BC if they are 40 yrs old or younger are likely to have had some training on macs. Most children here are mac users from the age of 4 or 5 til 18. Simply because our school systems here use them. They have the odd pc about but primarily the rooms are filled with macs.(though they are those colourful fishtank imacs typically) When I was in school in the 80's we took compsci on macs. One of the kids in my school(diffrent block than me) got busted for hacking. Mac users back then weren't necisarily rich but they often were geeks. Thease days though macs are pricer than they once were so yes more rich/well off people have them. But I think mac users probably span more careers than some studies might consider. I wonder if the studies have asked much on what type of computer people first used and learned skills on, which computer they currently use, what OS, and why? Many people use one type of system for work and another at home.<shrug> The stats on who uses macs though might go up if the prices were lower...(I know I'd certainly already have one sitting beside my PC's... each type of computer has advantages and some short commings) And if they ever went on stats of who has the most computers... On second thought they have done that. I think canada had 2/3's population with at least one computer in the house and that number was growing. If they polled them though to see if they were clueful users of those computers that would prove intresting. They'd probably find the group in their 30's or younger was probably quite well aware due to our practices here... I'm not sure though what the stats would say on how many are mac or pc users though.<shrug> However if asked if they've ever used a mac probably the percentage would be very high.
