Question of the Day! by kickstart2006-11-19 12:23:33
  meta-what? (n/t) by krupa2002-07-20 00:35:28
    A metasyntactic variable by nhaggin 2002-07-20 00:37:26
is any variable name you use in generic descriptions of an algorithm, explaining a language construct, or similar situations. Rather than confine yourself to "real" variable names, you pick an odd word (like "foo," "bar," etc.) and use it instead.
