I'll grant that "redneck" culture is more prevalent in rural areas; and rural areas are more prevalent in some parts of the "South", but that hardly makes "redneck" even remotely equivalent to "Southern"; otherwise, how do you explain "rednecks" from, say, Minnesota whose families have lived in the state for generations?
Get real! Better yet, learn not to overgeneralize on the basis of fallacious arguments. To argue that "redneck" implies "Southern", or the converse thereof, is about as sound as arguing that "Indian" implies "Hindu", or the converse thereof. Correlation is not enough to infer implication!
