I'm beginning to think you're worse than a hypocrite, that in fact "you just don't get it".
There are a lot of preferences about the Pledge, but "preference" doesn't affect constitutionality. And you seem to think it's okay to please one preference over all the others.
The fact that it was changed before should immediately make you ask why.
When learning that it was to endorse Christianity, you should immediately say "Full Stop! That's not right."
When realizing that the original was not wrong in any way, you should think, "Then put it back to rights."
Leaving it as is - wrong - does not make sense at all, no matter how often you say it does.
You've already been corrected about the constitutionality clause, so I won't bother.
And you take part in these discussions because...? I thought so.
I've always felt that ignoring stupidity is just going to make it bolder. Thus, I use insults liberally where appropriate (just look at any post by xti and you'll see why they're appropriate). That said, the people who think insults in a debate automatically "make you lose" are getting too bold. ;-) |
