I was never in the woodwork. I don't hide in the shadows to whisper nonsense to innocents; I'm too much a conservative for that.
I'm not a "dude" (I can ride a horse, thanks,) and I won't give it up. So long as liberals are applauded for speaking nonsense, I will do my damnedest to counter them with rationality. No, what I have to say isn't nice, which is what makes it so loathesome to others. But there's no nice way to combat a philosophy that places the appearance of "niceness" above the practicalities of the real world.
It's not nice that HIV positive kids are ostracized. Well, it's not nice that HIV positive kids exist. But instead of promoting a program that tells adults "KEEP IT IN YOUR PANTS!", that teaches adults proper hygene, that passes judgement on adults who don't act responsibily, it teaches kids just to accept other, infected kids, which *isn't* going to do a thing to end the disease in the first place. And at least in a few cases, is going to infect other kids.
We didn't defeat TB in the U.S. with acceptance; we didn't defeat smallpox with acceptance... we fought the diseases, and did what was necessary to defeat them, including quarantine. We didn't teach people to 'accept' it as an alternative lifestyle.
