Apparently, Michael Newdow would. "The main thrust of this case is not my daughter, it's me." I'd say that about sums it up.

I have no problem with his taking on the constitutionality of the pledge if he wants to, that's his business - as is whether or not he wants to worship my deity, someone else's, or none at all.

I have a very big problem with his tossing his daughter and her mother in the middle of a media circus they want nothing to do with (and which they will certainly have to deal with indefinitely), when he doesn't even share custody of the child.

His beliefs / social views are his business - on the point of the issue I don't even necessarily think he's wrong. But he's using his kid against the wishes of the custodial parent and - in as far as she is able to make an informed decision - the child herself. Surely he could've found support for this view any number of other places if it meant that much to him.
