Without more facts, I'm kind of guessing here that rwrannells is a citizen. If one marries a US citizen, doesn't one automatically get citizenship? I think that's right, since you hear about people marrying to stay in the country. If one gets divorced, is that citizenship taken away? Seems unlikely to me. Even more unlikely is that the US could legally deport a US citizen, regardless of their birth country.

But this is making a lot of assumptions on the situation.

In any case, that really sucks. For better or worse, judges are human, and like all humans, they're prone to make mistakes. This was a really bad one.

Must be hard to be a lawyer. It's their whole life to defend their clients, even if they're obviously wrong.
