<vent> Gosh I love Safeway by mcnutcase2002-07-12 02:34:20

Well, in a way, it's nice to know that Safeway treats it's employees no better than it treats it's customers.
Sorry about your loss of work, but personally, I think you are better off not working for those bozos.

Get this scenario from the same company...

Many long moons ago, I could buy a particular produce in my nearby S*. Then, after a few weeks, it's not on their shelves anymore, replaced by a 'different' product. I am told by the manager that the reason it's not on the shelves anymore is because "It's a discontinued item, we don't carry it anymore."

Now, roll forward about 7 months, and I'm checking out with my week's worth of groceries. They have their little 'auto-coupon-generator' there, and it prints me out a little gift for that week...a coupon for said discontinued item. I took this coupon, and found the SAME manager I spoke to before about this product. His answer was that not all stores carry the same product. I called him on that and reminded him about his previous 'statement'. Also, I informed him that printing coupons or advertising for merchandise they do not carry is fraudulent. He made some lame attempt to cover up his 'lies.'
My call to the corporate office didn't generate much better results, only getting me more double-speak.

So, my philosophy is to bad-mouth them whenever I go into the store, and make sure the employees know when I don't like what I see. Maybe I can force enough of them to quit...
