| I got sacked yesterday, for refusing to sort out their bog-up. Story is, they had me down to w*** 8.30-5.30, which was fine by me. I went in at 8.30 and got told "oh, no, you're on the late shift today" (1.15-10.15). I told them I couldn't w*** that shift, and had had no warning whatsoever of the change. They insisted I go away and come back at 1.15, which I did, planning to leave at 5.30 (fully justified IMHO). Their next shot was saying they'd phoned me and told me about the change, and I'd agreed, which was quite blantantly BS. Firstly because if they had phoned me I'd have said "I can't w*** the late shift then" so the problem wouldn't have arisen, and secondly because if I had been phoned (which I wasn't) and if I had then agreed (which I wouldn't have) is it even remotely likely I'd have turned up for the early, having inconvenienced myself and my family to do so? Oh, for a manager that's worked out that you don't put Preparation H on your elbow... </vent> |
