I mean open source, you may have percieved it as a light hearted joke. However I could never be more serious.

The motive of file sharing is what? to obtain value in exchange for nothing. The motive of open source is to obtain knowledge in exchange for nothing. however, this motive is surpassed by the outcome of the experement. The outcome I speak of is legalized theift. When one can take another person's hard work, change the name, and charge money for it, what else could it be called?

You say that it is only the programmers fault for this, that he volunteered his mind to the disposal of such actions. However, I say it is immoral to to volunteer your mind for the sake of others.

Did you learn what you have so you could spend it on those who you do not know, for a trade of nothing? You learn how to program so that you can give your knowledge away? You say you have side jobs that pay your rent, and put food on your table. I say, what says that someone else won't do what you are doing now, but instead of asking for payment, they give it away? Why did you bother learning if you give it to everyone but yourself? Why do you give away that which you could sell?

Why do you consider a copyright that revokes your rights to discontinue your own ideas, and grants those who did not create it equal rights as its creator?
