I lived in a small town growing up. I got pulled over by a cop one time and he said "PecosDave? Your PecosJohns^* kid aren't you?" I said "Yes sir". He said "I don't have to give you a ticket or haul you into the station, all I have to do is call your daddy." Fortunately it was minor, headlights not on when they should of been, that POS I was driving had a dash light out that week and I just didn't notice because I hadn't been able to read the guages in the dark anyways ans was used to it. He let me off with a friendly warning and all was fine, but sometimes parents do make a difference, and when they do it really shows. ^*name obviously obscured for identification reasons. It's not like all people who've been on here over four months or so haven't seen my real last name anyways.
