Maybe your standards by Kahabut 2002-07-09 23:44:59
of humanity are too low. I've never been a police officer, but I have dealt with dangerous people, and I have been attacked. When someone attacks you, you respond by making them stop, you don't however restrain them and then BEAT THEM UP. Thats not the way it works. If your definition of HUMANITY includes the clause: whenever someone gets MAD they can do what they like... your definition sucks. I think the officers (yeah, all of them) should face discipline. I also think the one that actually perpatrated violence earned himself some jail time. The fact that that officer struck a subject in restraints is bad enough, the fact that he BEAT the man is UNEXCUSABLE. Wether he was mad or not. If the beating had occured while the man was free of the cuffs, I might feel differently about it(actualy I would, thats a fair fight, even if the odds suck).
