Do you know firsthand what led up to this videotape?

No? Then my personal opinion is that conclusions should not be leapt to. I'm not bounding to the defense of the officer in question, but neither am I going to presume (in the name of utter PC-dom) that there might not have been SOME mitigating circumstances. Until a full investigation and proof of guilt one way or another is made, I won't be scum-calling anyone.

*shrugs* There's often a large gray area where law enforcement is concerned, and while it's very possible that all bounds were crossed in this instance there's also the very real possibility that there's more to the story than those leaping on the Rodney King bandwagon have mentioned as yet. Don't let the utter righteousness of the PC mentality dictate a knee-jerk reaction without proof... if the officer did feel that he was threatened or may have been injured as the article says he claimed, then that could have led to poor, rash judgement.
