Windows NT 4 Troubles by LeiraHoward2002-07-09 09:07:14
Some things to try / consider by jayfarm 2002-07-09 11:26:26
I had a similar problem recently and it turned out to be a MB problem (hopefully yours won't)

1) Remove anything non-essential for initial setup, this includes extra HDs, Extra anything, strip it down to one HD, your CD drive, and a video card. Maybe leave in the network card.

2) Make sure that in the bios the "virus detection" is turned off, this can cause some major issues when you try to install.

See if those two work.

Some more food for thought:

I was having random crashes and freezes on a system and it was due to heat. Little did I know that one of my processor fans had died and the CPU was overheating causing random restarts / stop errors. Check to make sure that all your cooling fans are free from dust and spin nicely.

I would try to swap the memory / video / network if I was able to, I realize that not everyone has spare ram kicking around, or another frame that they can use to test it in. But it's worth a shot if you have the ability.

Hope this works - I would appreciate ya droppin' a line telling me one way or the other, maybe I can come up with a few more ideas.
