Too slow for GLQuake and Quake2? :) by nin_man2002-07-09 10:09:30
            GLQuake/Quake2 are designed for 3dfx by gblues 2002-07-09 10:56:53
The OpenGL support for Quake/Quake2 are written for the miniGL implementation for 3dfx voodoo chipsets. The TNT2 cards have really bad texture upload speeds under OpenGL, and all this results in shoddy performance.

I use Win2k exclusively for gaming at home and have yet to experience any major issues directly related to the OS. The performance is a tad less than what you'd get from win9x, but that is simply the NT overhead.
